1. Delhi - Indira Gandhi International Airport

Delhi has the busiest airport in India accounting for 18 percent of all passenger traffic

2. Bengaluru - Kempegowda International Airport

The airport in India’s IT hub has beat Mumbai in traffic in first 10 months of the current financial year.

One of the oldest airports in India, which was opened in 1924, serves 7 percent of India’s airline passengers.

5. Hyderabad - Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

Hyderabad airport has held the fifth position for a third year in a row. It also ranked in the AirHelp list of 10 airports in the world.

6. Chennai - Chennai International Airport

Chennai used to rank fourth in terms of traffic 7 years ago but it now placed at sixth.

7. Ahmedabad - Sardar Vallabhai Patel International Airport

Ahmedabad, which beat Pune in passenger traffic two years ago, has held its position this year too.

8. Patna - Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport

The capital of Bihar has seen a significant jump in air travellers. It used to rank at 13-15 but it is the 8th busiest airport in India. To meet rising demand, Airports Authority of India (AAI) plans to expand and modernise the infrastructure.

The popular tourist destination has ranked ninth in terms of traffic for the fourth year in a row.

10. Pune - Pune International Airport

Pune airport’s ranking slipped from 7 to 10 in this year due to high number of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra. It got the ‘Best Airport in terms of hygiene measures’ in Asia-Pacific region award from Airports Council International in 2020.
