Karnataka, which includes India’s IT hub Bengaluru, is a distant second on the list with 12,916 recognised startups located in the state.

The national capital is a close third on the list with 12,749 startups located in Delhi.

Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh, India’s most populous state, is next on the list with 11,307 recognised startups.

Gujarat

Gujarat, which aims to emerge as a financial hub, is next on the list with 9,187 recognised startups located in the state.

Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu, which has seen investments from several major global companies, is next on the list with 7,557 recognised startups in the state.

Haryana

Haryana is seventh on the list of the states with the most recognised startups in India with 6,220 startups located in the state.

Telangana

Telangana is eighth on the list with 6,148 recognised startups. Hyderabad has seen investments from several sectors, including IT and pharma.

Another southern state in the list, Kerala has 5,031 recognised startups in the state, allowing it to capture the ninth position.
