Bengaluru houses nearly 30% of the country’s technology startups. In case you’re considering a startup, or planning to expand to Bengaluru, catching up with a couple of local entrepreneurs always helps.

Doesn’t matter if you’re actively looking, or just browsing, soaking in a bit of the co-working culture, and a couple of unofficial places to work in the city will help you take a more informed decision. Here are a few options:

BHiVE Workspace

BHiVE Workspace
The biggest co-working spaces in the city, BHiVE has three centres across Bangalore – the hedonistic Indiranagar, upcoming HSR layout and picturesque Koramangala.

While prices vary, the one in Indiranagar costs Rs. 365 ($5.4) a day. If you’re a student you get it at 304 bucks ($4.5). Monthly passes have three forms. In case you travel a lot, flex memberships are better.

Regular membership comes at Rs. 6500 ($96.5) a month and Dedicated desks are Rs. 7000 ($103) a month. Prices include coffee and tea. Both HSR and Indiranagar are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, whereas Koramangala is open 8am-10pm on all 7 days of the week.

Church Street Social

Church Street Social
In line with Bangalore’s spirit, Church Street Social is a co-working space during the day and a pub at night. Located right in the center of town, you can opt to work out of their other two locations in Delhi and Mumbai.

Open between 9am and 6pm on weekdays, this place has high-speed internet, printers, scanners, and an on-demand conference room. Membership fees is Rs.5,000 ($75) a month, and after you exceed your limit, you get a 10% discount on the bill.

Microsoft Accelerator

Microsoft Accelerator
Microsoft Accelerator is an early-to-middle-stage accelerator focused on Cloud, Internet and Mobile using Microsoft technologies.

Microsoft Accelerator runs program of 4 months, starting in January and July every year. Selected startups get strong mentoring, technical guidance and connections to other startups.

The accelerator announced its latest batch of 12 startups in March this year that raised $18 million.

Kyron
Kyron Accelerator is a global accelerator for early-stage startups. Founded in 2012, it deals with Web and App-based startups.

Kyron has introduced a new concept of pre-accelerator, which will admit about 20-25 startups. Such startups will be put through a six-month incubation period after which Kyron handpick the companies for its accelerator batches.
