Amazon employee claims to get paid to do nothing
Blind is a platform where working professionals get together and share their candid experiences about workplaces anonymously. Users can also comment on others' posts and react to them. A particular post has been getting attention on the platform wherein a Senior Technical Program Manager at Amazon admitted to earning a substantial salary of $370,000 a year (around Rs 3.1 crore) despite putting in minimal effort during his time at the tech giant.The employee, who has been with Amazon for a year and a half, shared his story with a surprising level of transparency. "I joined Amazon 1.5 years ago after being laid off from Google," the employee wrote on Blind. "My goal was simple: do nothing, collect a salary, and eventually get placed on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)," he confessed.
According to the post, during the emplpyee's tenure at Amazon, they completed just seven support tickets and created a single automated dashboard. The employee also admitted that the dashboard, which they claimed took three months to develop, was actually created in just three days using ChatGPT.

Some people have expressed outrage, arguing that the employee's actions are unfair to his hardworking colleagues who genuinely contribute to their roles. "This kind of behavior is a slap in the face to those who put in real effort," one user commented.
However, others have pointed out that this situation may be indicative of a larger problem within corporate structures. "This isn't just about one employee gaming the system; it speaks to the inefficiencies and lack of oversight in large organizations," another user argued.
The Meta employee who got paid to do nothing
This isn't the first time that an employee has claimed to do nothing yet get paid. There have been ample such cases in the past.In March this year, for instance, a former Meta recruiter revealed in a viral TikTok video that she earned USD 190,000 annually while doing virtually nothing for six months at the company.
She had explained that despite being hired as a recruiter, she and her colleagues were not expected to hire anyone during that period, which left them with little to do. Machado noted that most of her time at Meta was spent in training, as the company was meticulous about its learning process.
