The Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) is inviting applications for a paid internship programme from the students pursuing post graduation (PG) or master of philosophy (M.Phil) or Ph.D. degree, in New Delhi.

The last date to apply for the internship programme is February 28.

Selected candidates will be given a stipend of ₹8,000 per month with train fare (only for outstation candidates).

The BPR&D is offering two kinds of internship — One month with not less than 22 working days and 2 months with not less than 44 working days.

The interns will work in one of the following divisions — Research and correctional administration, training, modernisation and technology development, national police mission, statistical & publication,and administration.

Eligibility criteria for the internship programme —



  1. Candidates pursuing PG/M.Phil/PhD in these subjects are only eligible for the programme — Criminology, sociology, social work, psychology, law, forensic psychology, human rights, public administration, public policy and governance, information technology, police and prison studies, cyber security, cyber forensics & information security, police and prison administration, computer science, management or any other subjects related to police or prisons/correctional administration issues.
  2. Students who have attended the internship programme in the BPR&D earlier are not eligible to apply again.
  3. Applications must be forwarded by the head of department of their university. Applications, which are not forwarded through the respective Heads of the departments of the university will be rejected.
The interns will be required to submit the report on the tasks completed by them along with a report on field visits to the Nodal Officer for interns in each division, which will in turn be put up to the director.

Other rules and regulations —



  1. The interns will have to attend the programme regularly without break.
  2. The daily attendance will be marked in a register/attendance sheet.

Candidates can fill out the application form available on the official website of BPR&D. The applications should be duly signed and sealed by the head of the department (HOD)/university attested with copies of mark-sheet.
