Here’s how women are represented in the workforce across industries in 163 countries, as per the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2023.

Healthcare and care services is a women-dominated industry, with 64.7 percent of the workforce consisting of women.

Women also dominate the education sector, making up 54 percent of the workforce.

Women also make up for more than half of the workforce in the consumer services industry, at 51.8 percent of the workforce.

The government and the public sector comes closest to achieving equal participation between both the genders. Women make up 49.7 percent of the workforce in this area.

About 48.7 percent of the workforce in the retail sector are women, slightly tilting the industry in favour of men.

The entertainment industry is a close sixth, with women making up 48.4 percent of the workforce globally.
