The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced class 10th results on Monday, with an average pass percentage of 91.1% — nearly five percentage points higher than last year.
But on the gender distribution front, the pass percentage among girls is 92.45%, outperforming boys who had a pass percentage of 90.14%.
According to media reports, of over 1.7 million students that appeared for the examination, 13 students have topped the board exams this year— scoring 499 marks out of 500.
Out of these seven are boys and the remaining girls.
According to the news agency IANS, 24 students secured the second position on the list with 498 marks out of 500.
