Colin Kaepernick's lawyer says 2 teams have shown interest in signing the QB, and hints they are the Patriots and Raiders

Colin Kaepernick's attorney suggested that there are multiple NFL teams interested in signing the quarterback-turned-activist.

• Colin Kaepernick has not played in the NFL for two years, but his recent ad campaign with Nike has launched him back into the spotlight.
• His lawyer, Mark Geragos, told TMZ that the quarterback-turned-activist could sign with an NFL team as soon as next week.
• Geragos not-so-subtly hinted that the two interested franchises are the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots.

Colin Kaepernick hasn't played in an NFL game since the 2016 season, but according to his attorney, that could all change very soon.

Mark Geragos, who represents the quarterback-turned-activist in his ongoing collusion lawsuit against the NFL, told TMZ that he expects his client to sign with a professional franchise in the coming days.

"I would just say, stay tuned," Geragos said. "Next week there may be some news."

Geragos went on to say that there are "two other teams" that have expressed interest in signing Kaepernick, but that they would have to "remain nameless."

Later in the interview, he not-so-subtly hinted at who those teams might be.

"I'll say this ... if Al Davis was still alive," Geragos said in an obvious allusion to the Oakland Raiders. This comes after Al's son Mark Davis - owner of the Raiders - told TMZ earlier this month that he supported Nike's decision to sign Kaepernick and make him the center of its latest campaign.

And during the TMZ video, when a voice off camera mentioned Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, Geragos responded "Bingo!"

Given the fact that both Oakland and New England have solid starting quarterbacks in Derek Carr and Tom Brady,  Kaepernick likely would not see any playing time this season barring an injury to either player. However, landing with a team this season would vastly improve the former San Francisco 49ers' chances of reaching the field next season. 

Whether or not Kaepernick and Geragos would continue their legal action against the NFL if the quarterback were signed to a team remains uncertain. Geragos confirmed that Kaepernick and his girlfriend, Nessa, watch the NFL to support players who have continued the wave of protests he started, citing the Miami Dolphins' Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson as examples.
