  • The difference in pricing between Jio Fiber and its competitors wanes away with higher speeds.
  • Jio offers more data at lower prices at 100 mbps than its competitors — Bharti Airtel, ACT Fibernet, YouBroadband and Spectra.
  • Jio Fiber's Platinum plan of 1 gbps it at par with what Airtel has to offer. Other plans are either cheaper or offer more data.
When Reliance Jio announced the launch of Jio Fiber, the new broadband plans were hailed setting a new pricing standard. Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, promised a minimum speed of 100mbps at prices starting from ₹700 per month

Jio Fiber's Silver Plan is that starting point. Even though it is ₹700 per month, the actual amount users will have to pay after taxes comes up to ₹849.

Even so, Jio Fiber's Silver Plan is considerably cheaper than it competitors. This includes Bharti Airtel, ACT Fibernet, YouBroadband and Spectra.

According to the comparison above, most companies fall short of delivering what Jio can offer. But, at the same time, there are options available to users looking for higher monthly data limits — provided they shell out the extra money.

ACT Fibernet's 100 mbps plan is 37% more expensive than Jio Fiber, but it also offers 25% more data per month. Spectra, an internet service provider operating mostly in Delhi, is nearly twice as expensive but puts no limits on how much data a user can consume in a month.

But, as speeds get faster the disparity between Jio and its competitors starts to decrease.

Jio and Airtel are walking hand-in-hand offering users the speed of 1 gbps for ₹3,999. The only difference is that Jio Fiber has set its data limit at 2,500 GB, where Airtel claims its placing no such restriction on consumption.

ACT Fibernet, even ₹2,000 more expensive than Jio Fiber, is offering at extra 1,000 GB per month to its users. The increase in cost isn't proportional to the extra data but could make sense for users that have higher consumption requirements.

Spectra's pricing of its 1 gbps plan goes in the other direction. It only offers 500 GB per month but it's also less than half the price of Jio Fiber's Platinum plan at ₹1,549.
