Gen Z professionals in India are more interested in acquiring Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills than their older counterparts, spending 73 per cent more time than other generations to learn the skill, a new report said on Tuesday."Upskilling is no longer just an option, it's imperative, with a renewed focus on cultivating vital human skills like leadership and problem-solving to harness AI's full potential," said Ashutosh Gupta, Country Manager, LinkedIn India.The report also revealed that global AI conversations shot up by a solid 70 per cent from December 2022 to September 2023.

India tweaks licensing norms for laptop, computer imports; online authorisation system introduced

The government on Thursday tweaked the cumbersome licensing norms to import IT hardware products like laptops and computers and put in place an online authorisation system for importers of these goods. The announcement assumes significance as the government announced on August 4 that an importer would need a license for the import of these goods from November 1, with a view to boosting domestic manufacturing and cutting imports from countries like China.

Indian PC market declines for fourth consecutive quarter, reports 15% decline

The Indian PC market has reported a decline for the fourth consecutive quarter, reporting a decline of over 15% year-on-year. In Q2 2023, the Indian PC market consisting of desktops, notebooks, and workstations shipped 3.2 million units. According to a report by International Data Corporation (IDC), while the Indian PC market reported a quarterly growth of 5.4%, there was a 15.3% year-on-year decline.
