Delhiites, Booking Venues Is Now Just A Click Away!

Every Delhiite has gone through the pain of finding and booking venues for wedding and other functions in the city. But soon they might get respite from the tedious task as Public Works Department (
"We have started the trial run of online booking system for community centres and open space/parks. With the launch of this project, Delhiites can book PWD's parks and community centres for marriage functions and other events online and even make payment through Internet. This project may be launched on 1 December," said a senior official from PWD.
Presently, these venues can be booked only by visiting the Delhi Secretariat office, and thus consumes a lot of time and efforts of citizens. The motive of launching the online booking system is to save time of the technologically sound citizens. Also, in the wake of a recent corruption scam whereby three tent operators were blacklisted by PWD on account of fraudulent bookings, this project will also help in bringing full-transparency in the venue booking process.
Central and State government employees would have to book the venue 90 days before the function while those who are not employed with Central or State governments would have to book the venue 30 days prior to the function date.
