Crime & thrillers movies always excited me. I used to regularly get my dope by watching Bond movies and other Hollywood crime thrillers, but a part of me always wished only if Bollywood can churn out some serious stuff in the same genre. The recently launched trailer of Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, starring Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead, surely have given me some hope, but at the same time it (the trailer) also coerced me to think of other most talked-about detective movies of Bollywood. And here comes my list.

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan was last seen playing a detective in Bobby Jasoos. Though the movie released with the bang, but Vidya’s Sherlock Holmes act couldn’t create much buzz on the Box Office. The movie also stars Ali Fazal in the lead role opposite Vidya.

One of the much-anticipated detective films these days is Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer Jagga Jasoos. According to the buzz, Ranbir will be seen playing a 17-year-old boy in the film. Jagga Jasoos also stars Katrina Kaif and Govinda, who will play Ranbir’s father.

Another spy movie that everyone is looking forward to is Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma starrer NH10. The leggy lady has reportedly done some kick ass action in the film directed by Navdeep Singh.

A detective movie with a comic angle, Thank You had Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar playing a detective in this Anees Bazmee movie. Akshay enacted the role of a funny detective who is specialised in dealing with extra-marital affairs.

High on high-tech gadgetry, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan starrer Baadshah was a mash-up of several Hollywood films, including If Looks Could Kill and The Nick of Time. King Khan played a cool detective in the film; Twinkle Khanna played his love interest.

Saif Ali Khan was seen playing a RAW agent in the film directed by Sriram Raghavan. The movie also had Kareena Kapoor, who was an ISI agent in this spy thriller. The real-life couple failed to create fireworks and the movie bombed on the Box Office.
