Here’s how to apply for NEET 2020 — the new undergraduate entrance exam that has replaced AIIMS, AIPMT and DPMT

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is now inviting applications for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020. This year onwards, NEET will be the only entrance examination for applying to all the undergraduate courses in medicine — including All India Institute for Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) and other private colleges.

According to TOI, this year the agency has added a security feature to the examination — it will use artificial intelligence to crack down on any suspicious cases of blurred or similar-looking photographs.

The NTA will release the application forms today i.e December 2, 2019 on its official website at ntaneet.nic.in at 4 pm. The last date to register is December 31.

The entrance examination for all the MBBS and dental course seats will be held on May 3, 2020 and the regulatory body will roll out the admit cards on March 27. The results are expected to be declared on June 4.

The test will comprise of a total of 180 questions from three sections — Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The candidates will have to upload both passport-size and postcard size photographs along with the online application.

The application fee for candidates from the general category is ₹1,500 and ₹1,400 for the EWS/OBC category. And for the transgender and SC/ST candidates, the application fee is at ₹800.

The application procedure will be updated as the registration opens.
