Half Ticket in Marathi

The official remake of the award-winning Tamil film Kaaka Muttai, the film follows the story of two brothers and their yearning for a slice of pizza after a shop opens near their slum. A heartwarming moment of the movie is when their ajji (grandma) makes a bhakri (baked bread) with toppings.

Dhh in Gujarati

Capturing the universal fear of examination, this slice-of-life drama stars veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah as magician Samrat. The film focuses on how a group of children reach out to their favourite magician to save them from examination, but actually end up enjoying studying through his ‘magic’ tricks.

Village Rockstars in Assamese

India’s official entry to the 91st Academy Awards, the film follows the life of a 10-year-old girl who, after watching a band perform, dreams of becoming a rockstar and saves up to buy a guitar - only to be faced by the harsh reality of floods and destroyed crops. The coming-of-age drama won the Best Feature Film ‘Swarna Kamal’ at the 65th National Film Awards.

Pasanga 2 in Tamil

The last film in director Pandiraj’s trio for children, critically acclaimed Pasanga 2 deals with the issue of ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) - who are shuffled between schools and hostels. Taking a leaf from Taare Zameen Par, the film calls out the normalised but restrictive approach to learning.

Dhappa in Marathi

Dhappa, which won the National Award for the best film on National Integration, focuses on a group of children who organise a play on environmental conversation to celebrate Ganeshotsav. But the local moral police object to having Jesus in the play during Ganeshotsav.

When Manya discovers his school’s Kabaddi team is travelling to Mumbai, he decides to join them in order to meet his crush. However, when his speech impediment makes it difficult to pronounce “Kabaddi”, he becomes the butt of jokes and is bullied - despite it all, he perseveres.

Winner of two National Film Awards, Sumi showcases the inspiring story of a young girl’s journey to get a bicycle to ride to her school, which is miles away from her home. It’s close to the movie’s writer, Sanjeev Jha’s personal experiences.
