Despite a slow start, Akshay Kumar's Housefull 4 has earned ₹53 crore in the first three days of its release. It is expected to make over ₹30 crore on its fourth day as holiday mood continues.

The incarnation dramedy involves three brothers who are supposed to marry three sisters but things go haywire after one of the brothers ‘remembers’ their past. The film features Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda, Pooja Hegde and Chunkey Pandey.

This is the fourth in the series of the heavily successful Housefull series whose stories revolve an ensemble cast, confusion---all in a large home. While all the other movies were directed by Sajod Khan, his involvement in the #metoo scandal, made the team bring in a new director to helm the project.

This movie directed by Farhad Samji opened on October 25 to mixed reviews, but made nearly ₹19 crore on the first day. Its collections for Saturday and Sunday stood at ₹18.8 crore and ₹15.3 crore, respectively.

As the festive fever continues with Bhai Dooj on Tuesday, the film is expected to continue its good run at the box office.

Housefull 4 has also earned a whopping $1.1 million in international markets, according to film critic Taran Adarsh.

"The first three days of our film release were like paid previews. People have come despite the festive season and enjoyed the film. I think we had the best paid previews with a total collection of 53cr and our actual weekend starts today," said producer Sajid Nadiadwala.
