Love is evolving and so is the language associated with showing its ever changing nature and form. From green dating to affordating, here are some of the new terms in the world of dating and modern love, according to the India edition of the Tinder Modern Dating Dictionary.

The many ships of relationships
Situationship is defined as not being in a relationship officially but also not single. An open relationship is a type of consensual relationship where partners aren't exclusively dating one another. Texlationship is when two people often text each other, but rarely (if ever) meet.

Affordating, Sober dating
Tinder, in its report earlier said that young singles around the globe increasingly prefer keeping their dates simple because ‘going outside is expensive’, and thus the term affordating. Sober dating is a teetotaller’s way of saying ‘let’s grab a drink’.

Green dating, NDR
A relationship focused on sustainable living and environmental activism is what green dating is all about. NDR or No-distance relationship is when both partners live in relative physical proximity, often within the same city or region.

Daterview, Next on deck
Daterview is if they ask you 'Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?' and the date feels like an interview. ‘‘Next on deck’ is a term for the person next in line to be dated if things don't work out with the current love.

TLC, You up
Self-care is the new idiom of the young daters. It’s all about being the best version of oneself. ‘You up’ is about putting yourself out there, exploring your individuality and seeking the kind of connections you want, on your own terms.

Swipe-right material & Green flags
Daters today have become more fluid, self-aware and comfortable with presenting their authentic self socially and upholding their individuality. This makes them ‘Swipe-right material’. ‘Green flags’ are signs that make you go 'this one's a keeper'.

Rizz, Per-file
When someone has the ability to charm or flirt with a potential partner smoothly it is called Rizz. ‘Per-file’, or the perfect profile, describes someone whose dating app profile is so attractive that it pulls you in.

Neo-love, Tase
Neo-love refers to the modern, technology-infused form of love - it’s about going on digital dates with the matches you found online. Tase is a term that is used to describe the talking phase before entering a relationship.

ENM: ethical non monogamy
An assortment of different types of relationships one may have based on mutual respect, intimacy and without any label of exclusivity.

Love haze, On ice
When you are in a love haze, you are so head over heels in love that you are unable to see a person's flaws. ‘On Ice’ is a synonym for taking a break in a relationship.

Cuffing season is the peak season for discovering new connections, when many singletons are seeking others to spend the (winter/holiday/end-of-year) months with. Cuffle isn't only about finding the right partner as daters bunker down during winter, it's also about finding the perfect hoodie that they can claim as their own.
