- During the SKIMS sale, I bought a cotton onesie that was 50% off to try.
- I was obsessed with it the first time I wore it, so I bought two more.
A couple of months ago, I decided to invest in some SKIMS clothes. Until then, I had only tried the brand's underwear line with mixed results. But because there were items at 50% off, I figured that if I absolutely hated the onesie made by Kim Kardashian's brand, it would hurt less than if I was paying full price.
So I hit purchase on a bright neon onesie, which arrived surprisingly quickly at my front door. The second I tried it on, I was obsessed — so much so that I went ahead and bought two more colors before they sold out.
People stop me to ask where it's from
At first I was only wearing them at home to be comfortable while working or doing house errands. As a mom of three kids — two of which are twins — and in my early 40s, I'm not necessarily a fan of skin-tight clothes because of all the changes my body has gone through.
But because these onesies are so comfortable and practical (I don't even need to wear a bra with them), I decided to wear them more often and venture outside my four walls.
The first time I wore it to the pool with my kids, all the moms there asked me questions about it: whether it was comfortable (yes), supportive (yes), and whether I recommended getting it (super yes).
Also every time I post a photo or video on my personal Instagram wearing it, I get flooded with direct messages from people asking me where it's from.
It's true to size
I've purchased SKIMS bras and bikinis in the past and have not always loved them. I've had my breasts professionally measured, and despite ordering my correct size, the bras from the brand have never felt comfortable or looked good on me. That's with one exception: the SKIMS nursing bra is so good that I still wear it four years after I've stopped breastfeeding.
This onesie, on the other hand, is true to size, possibly because the fabric has a little stretch that allows it to hug your body in surprisingly flattering ways.
The cotton rib onesie is available in eight colors and retails for $78. Two of the colors I have are still available at the discounted price of $40. Sizes range from XXS to 4X.
I have two more in my cart, violet and pink, and I am waiting for them to go on sale again.
