Jada Pinkett Smith reacts to arrest in Tupac Shakur's murder: 'Who called the hit?'
  • Jada Pinkett Smith is "happy" about the arrest made in connection with Tupac Shakur's 1996 murder.
  • But the actor said she still wants answers about her childhood friend's death.

Jada Pinkett Smith still wants answers about Tupac Shakur's murder in 1996, though she's happy that an arrest was recently made in connection with the killing.

The star, who was a childhood friend of Shakur, touched on the subject of the late "Changes" rapper's death in an interview about her new memoir, "Worthy," with InStyle published on Tuesday.

"My biggest question is: Who called the hit? And so I know that someone's been arrested, but I need that answered for me to really feel like justice in its completeness is being served. Who called the hit?" Pinkett Smith said.

When the interviewer said that the arrest was a step in the right direction, Pinkett Smith added: "That's what I was happy about. Hopefully, we'll get the answers that can bring us some closure and that's what I'm really hoping for. We'll see."

It's the same sentiment Pinkett Smith shared when Duane "Keffe D" Davis was arrested in late September. Davis was indicted on one count of murder with a deadly weapon, reported AP.

At the time, Pinkett Smith posted on her Instagram Story: "Now I hope we can get some answers and have some closure. R.I.P. Pac"

Pinkett Smith recently said her relationship with Shakur was strictly platonic and that they had no romantic chemistry. However, she believes they were soulmates.

"There are all kinds of definitions of 'soulmates,'" Pinkett Smith said. "If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think that Pac and I have traveled a few together."

The actor also recalled how the rapper proposed to her while he was in prison, but Pinkett Smith felt like he would've divorced her after getting out. She said that being married would've helped give him something to hold on to while in jail.
