On its release day, the film earned ₹6.71 crore and saw a 30% jump in its collection on day two, earning ₹8.89 crore As of now, the total box office collection stands at ₹15.6 crore with Sunday collections yet to come.




Malang starring Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani is a story of Advait and Sara who falls in love with each other in Goa. Things change when Advait turns into a serial killer and is running from the law.

“Mohit Suri misses the bus this time... #Malang works in patches, but its writing plays spoilsport, and fails to grab your attention in entirety... Suspense doesn't create the desired impact either,” Adarsh said. Whereas another film critic Sumit Kadel said Malang is a torment watch. “Film has got no thrills, has a dead slow predictable screenplay, shoddy script and mediocre performance by the star cast. Mohit Suri Direction is deplorable. Audience ko Paka dena inka maza aur nasha hai, Watch at your own Risk,” Kadel said.

The first day collection has made Malang Aditya Kapoor’s highest opening film ever. His first solo film Aashiqui 2 with Shraddha Kapoor earned ₹6.25 crore on the release day. Whereas, OK Jannu earned ₹4.08 crore.

Malang faces competition from the Hollywood biggie, Birds Of Prey released this week. The superhero action thriller, based on characters of DC comics, is one of the top releases of Hollywood, this season. Added to that, both war dramas - 1917 and Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji are still going strong at the box office.
