The streaming company is hiring for three new roles on the team, according to listings on the company's jobs website. The team is seeking a retail designer, a seasoned product development manager for softline goods, and merchandise brand strategy coordinators to help plan products around specific titles.

The new openings come a few months after a leadership shake-up on the consumer products team.

Christie Fleischer, who led Netflix's consumer products, brand partnerships, and partner marketing efforts, exited the company in September to become CEO of Benefit Cosmetics, Alexa Tietjen at Women's Wear Daily first reported.

Fleischer joined Netflix from Disney one year earlier to help the streaming company boost its merchandising efforts, and build its original series and movies into broader franchises.

Fleischer has not been replaced. Barry Smyth, who had been supporting her as director of global brand partnerships and partner marketing, is running those two teams.

Consumer products have been an experiment for Netflix to see how fans will engage with its franchises outside of its platform.

The company doubled down on merchandising and brand partnerships around the third season of "Stranger Things" in July. There were "Stranger Things" Lego sets, Funko toys, a soundtrack, mobile game, and clothing and sneaker lines with the likes of H&M, Nike, and other retailers.

The consumer products openings suggest there will be more to come from that team in 2020.

Netflix's content legal team is also hiring for a contracts analyst who specializes in consumer products.
