Changes in rental, fuel and utility transactions
A 1% fee is now applied to rental payments made through third-party apps such as PayTM, CRED, and MobiKwik, capped at Rs 3,000 per transaction.For utility payments, transactions exceeding Rs 50,000 will incur a 1 percent fee, capped at Rs 3,000. Transactions below this threshold and insurance-related payments are exempt from this fee.
Similarly, fuel purchases above Rs 15,000 will attract a 1 percent fee, also capped at Rs 3,000 per transaction. Smaller fuel transactions will remain unaffected.
Educational payments and international transactions
Educational transactions through third-party apps will incur a 1% fee, with a Rs 3,000 cap per transaction. However, international educational payments and direct payments through educational institution websites or their POS machines will not be charged this fee.Coming to international purchases and payments, they will now see a 3.5% markup fee on cross-currency transactions.
Late payment and rewards redemption fee
Late payment charges have been revised, ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 1,300, based on the outstanding amount. Meanwhile, redeeming rewards points for statement credit or cashback will now cost Rs 50.Changes in finance charges and easy-EMI processing fee
The finance charge for customers using revolving credit facilities is set at 3.75% per month, applicable from the transaction date until the outstanding balance is paid in full.In addition to this, opting for the Easy-EMI facility will incur a processing fee of up to Rs 299 for converting purchases into EMIs at both online and offline stores.
