October 2020 has quite a few national holidays as well as festivals lined up. Bank holidays are listed based on the instructions and guidelines received from the Reserve Bank of India. However, the bank holidays can differ between states due to some local holidays announced by the state governments.

These days, banks provide several convenience services to its customers. The countrywide ATMs make it possible to make withdrawals and deposits through machines without having to visit the banks in person. Most financial transactions and banking functions can be done online on the dedicated portals of the concerned bank. Hence the reasons for which customers would visit banks have dwindled these days. At the same time, keeping track of the bank holidays can let you stay well-equipped to manage the unexpected emergencies and avoid any disappointments or disruptions to your business or personal activities that involve money and banking.

As per the Reserve Bank of India guidelines, banks do not work on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. Also, Sundays are the regular weekend holidays. Here is a list of bank holidays for October month.
