Aadhar-PAN linking, ITR filing deadline extended to 30th June

The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced today (24th March) in a press conference, held via video conferencing that the deadline to link Aadhar card with the PAN card will be extended to 30th June 2020 due to Coronavirus Pandemic. The earlier deadline for the same was 31st March 2020.

The deadline to file the ITR, for the financial year 2018-18, has also been extended to 30th June 2020. The interest on delayed payment has also been reduced to 9 percent from 12 percent earlier.

The deadline to link Aadhar card with PAN has been extended 7-8 times already in the last 18 months and amid coronavirus scare, it has been extended again to give relief to the public at large.

The coronavirus cases are on the rise in the country with more than 500 cases registerd until mid-day tuesday with 10 deaths. The pandemic has resulted in more than 300,000 cases globally with more than 16000 deaths.
