The terrorists who waged war on Punjab are reckoned to have sneaked in from Pakistan through the border between Jammu and Pathankot or Chak Hira in Jammu district to launch the assault.

Union Home Ministry sources said the terrorists may have entered into India at around midnight and hit the highway using Paharpur road, around 15 kms from the border to indulge in a killing spree that left six dead including an officer of the Punjab police.

The terrorists involved in today's attacks wore Army uniforms and reached Parmanand village on the Jammu and Kashmir border and attempted to hijack a tempo at 5.30 AM. The tempo driver managed to flee.
