Britney Spears ranked No. 99 on Forbes' list of the highest-earning celebrities in 2016, tying with Gisele Bündchen. Both earned $30.5 million.
This is a slight decrease for Spears who made $31 million in 2015 and landed at No. 82 on Forbes' Celebrity 100 list.

Her total assets were valued at $45,982,505.75 in a 2014 court filing.
And it seems her sights for her future career and brand are clear.
She told Variety in a 2014 cover story:
"I’ve been very hands-on with everything I’ve done since I had my children. And it’s just really important for me to understand the big picture, where everybody’s coming from, what’s the real purpose of this shoot and this song, or whatever it is in that moment that I’m doing. It’s important to learn to say no. With tours and all of that stuff, there are so many aspects that go into it, it’s easy to have so many people around you saying, 'Oh yes, yes, you can afford this, you can afford this,' and then all of the sudden you’ve spent $20 million on your stage and you’re like, 'Where’s my money?' You have to make sure that you’re on top of things and know where the money’s going."
She makes much of her money on the road. In 2009, Billboard reported that Spears grossed $216.2 million total from her tours in the first decade of the 21st century. Her "Femme Fatale" tour in 2012 added $21.7 million — $7.3 million of which she pocketed — to that total.

When it extended her residency, Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas upped her $310,000-per-show (nearly $15 million per year) deal to $475,000 per show — just $1,000 under what Celine Dion makes. With the total number of shows now at 140, Spears is set to bank a whopping $66.5 million per year thanks to Vegas.
The pop star partnered with Elizabeth Arden in 2004, and by June 2016 she had debuted her 20th fragrance. In 2012, her various 11 fragrances at the time had reportedly earned her $1.5 billion and sold more than one million bottles in five years.
Her first perfume, "Curious," netted $100 million in sales after one year, according to Brandweek. In peak season, Spears sold a fragrance every 15 seconds, according to Express.

However, Spears had to pay Brand Sense Partners $10 million after the brand management and consultant company said her and her father cut them out of a deal.
She extended her brand to include lingerie and sleepwear, which are available via her retail partner Change Lingerie and range from $26 to $160.

The deal goes through 2020, with the possibility of a three-year extension.
Spears appeared as a judge on the second season of "The X Factor," which came with a paycheck of $15 million. Even though she only stayed on for one season, she became the highest-paid judge on reality television.
And we can never forget that back in Spears' prime, she inked a deal with Pepsi for $7 million. It launched a series of amazing commercials with her.
But Spears also likes to spend. Because of the conservatorship agreement, Spears' purchases are recorded in court documents, which have been obtained by TMZ and E! News throughout the years.
Like a lot of Americans, Spears apparently has an affinity for Target. She spent $5,500 at the retailer in 2014.

She spent more than $49,000 on her wardrobe in 2014, though she's now less partial to her signature early-2000s look — like this coat she wore while performing in 2003.
For makeup and hairdressing, Spears spent nearly $20,000 in 2014.
For a major star, Spears didn't shell out too much cash on luxuries in 2014 — only spending under $2,500 on massages, nails, and other grooming charges.
But when it came to meals and entertainment, Spears opened her pocket a little more, spending $15,270.
next slide will load in 15 secondsSkip AdSkip AdShe's had to spend a hefty sum as a result of her legal situation. As her conservator, her father Jamie gets about $130,000 per year and is also reimbursed for the rent for his office. Through the years, he has asked for increases and was approved to take 1.5 percent of gross revenues from the performances and merchandising tied to Spears' Las Vegas show.
Spears even has to pay people to make sure her conservators don't abuse their power. The court appointed Samuel D. Ingham III as her chief advocate. Since 2008, he has been paid $2 million in fees. That's in addition to the $6.9 million paid from the estate to the conservators and other lawyers who have helped manage Spears’ affairs.
Her kids feature prominently in the pop star's interviews and Instagram. Spears paid $409,000 in 2014 for child support and care. She has a custody arrangement with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Spears also shells out money on “family support,” a category in which she spent nearly $38,000 in 2014. These expenses included plane tickets for loved ones and a $500 weekly allowance for her mom, Lynne Spears.
Of course, she also has to pay her staff. $57,550 went to paying her entourage of various personnel and assistants.

The pop star recently traded one mansion in suburban Thousand Oaks, California, for another. She bought this five-bed, eight-bath home early in 2016 for $7.4 million.
With big homes like that, it makes a little more sense that she spent $3,400 on Christmas lights alone in 2012.
