You can download TikTok on your for Android and iOS. You can also download TikTok Lite, which is a toned-down version of the app for lower end devices.

Setting up your account

The first thing you need to do after downloading the app is to sign up. TikTok provides several options to sign up on the app. You can use your phone number, email, Facebook account, Google account, Instagram account or Twitter account to sign up.

Make your account private

Like Instagram, once you make your account private, you will be able to choose who can follow you on TikTok.

  • Open TikTok and click on the Profile icon at the bottom right corner.
  • Tap the overflow button (three dots) at the top right corner.
  • Now, go to ‘Privacy and Safety’ and enable the ‘Private account’ option.
Create your QR code

You can share this QR code with your friends so that they can easily find you.

  • Open TikTok and click on the Profile icon at the bottom right corner.
  • Now, at the top right corner, click on the QR code icon (four squares).
  • Now, click on ‘Save image’.
Upload a video from your gallery

If you have already made a video, you can upload it directly and you don’t have to record it again on TikTok.

  • Open TikTok and tap the plus icon at the bottom.
  • Now, click the upload button at the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • Now, select the video from your gallery.
  • You can now add filters, text and edit the length of the video.
Create a slideshow using photos

In addition to posting videos, you can also share slideshows on TikTok.

  • Open TikTok on your phone and tap the plus icon at the bottom.
  • Swipe left and go to ‘Photo templates’ option.
  • Now, click on ‘Select photos’ and choose the photos from the gallery.
  • Once you are done selecting the images, tap on ‘Ok’ at the top right corner.
  • You can now edit the images and upload the slideshow.
Create a GIF from TikTok videos

You can also convert TikTok videos into a GIF and share it.

  • Go to the TikTok video that you want to share.
  • Tap on the ‘Share’ icon at the right side.
  • At the bottom, scroll to the right and look for ‘Share as GIF’.
  • At the top right corner, click on ‘Generate’.
  • You can now share it via SMS, WhatsApp, Twitter or other platforms.
Download TikTok videos

  • Go to the TikTok video that you want to save.
  • Tap on the ‘Share’ icon at the right side.
  • Now, click on ‘Save video’.
Perform a duet on TikTok

  • Go to the TikTok video with which you want to perform a duet.
  • Tap on the ‘Share’ icon at the right side.
  • Now, click the ‘Duet’ icon.
  • Now, record a video alongside the selected video.
Delete your TikTok videos

If you have posted a TikTok video that you don’t like, you can delete it easily.

  • Open TikTok and go to your profile.
  • Select the video that you want to delete.
  • Click the overflow button (three dots) on the right side of the screen.
