Unlike many Fitbit trackers, the Fitbit One cannot be reset to its factory settings by a user, but there are still ways to help get a sluggish or malfunctioning Fitbit One working again.

If your Fitbit One isn't working properly, you can force it to restart. In most cases, this will get the device working properly once again, so you can get back to properly monitoring your step count, distance travelled, sleep quality, and more.

And you can pass your Fitbit One along to a new user without keeping all your data on the device. Once a Fitbit One is added to a new Fitbit account, the previous user's data will be erased and replaced with the new person's information.

How to reset a Fitbit One

1. Connect the Fitbit One to its charger, and make sure the gold contacts on the back of the device connect fully with the contact points on the charger.

2. Hold the button on the face of the One for a little more than a count of 10 seconds.

3. Disconnect the Fitbit One from its power source and wait a moment, then depress its button until the unit turns on.

Hold the button on the face of the Fitbit One and the unit should turn back on.

The tracker has now been restarted and should work properly again. If it doesn't, your next step is simply to get in touch with Fitbit's customer service department.
