How to join UG courses in IIT Bombay

To join an undergraduate program in IIT Bombay, the candidates must have completed their higher secondary (10 +2) examinations. The candidates should have compulsorily studied Physics and Mathematics with Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology as an optional subject. The eligibility criteria for admission to the UG courses in IIT Bombay require the candidate scoring more than 75% marks in the Higher Secondary examination.

For admission to the B.Tech, BS and the B.Tech – M.Tech dual degree courses, the candidates must have scored competitively in the JEE Main and JEE Advanced examinations.

To be able to apply for the B.Des. course, the candidates could have passed their 10+2 examination from any stream. The admission to B.Des. Course is based on the candidate’s performance in the UCEED examination.

How to join PG courses in IIT Bombay

For entry into the M.Tech and M.Tech – Ph.D. dual degree programs, the applicants must have got a B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc. (Engineering) or other degrees that are equivalent to them in the branch relevant to the course they are applying for. For eligibility, the candidates must have scored more than 60% marks in their UG course. In addition, the admission to the M.Tech and M.Tech – Ph.D. courses will be based on the candidates’ score in the GATE examination.

Those candidates who have got graduated from a relevant UG stream scoring over 55% marks can apply to the IIT, Bombay for joining the M.Sc. and M.Sc. – Ph.D. courses.

Further to this, the admission to these courses will also be based on the performance of the candidates in the IIT JAM examination.

For applying for the M.Des. course, the candidates must have graduated from a UG course in any one of the disciplines including Engineering, Architecture, Design or Interior Design or other equivalent programs that run for four years after completing the 10+2 examinations. Admission to the M.Des. course will be based on the score the candidate has got in the CEED examination.

Those candidates who have graduated from a UG course scoring more than 60% marks can apply for M.Mgt. and EMBA courses offered by the IIT Bombay. Further to this, admission to the M.Mgt. and EMBA programs will be based on the CAT examination score obtained by the candidate in addition to the performance in Written Aptitude Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) conducted by the university.
