How to turn off automatic software updates on an iPhone

1. Open the Settings app and scroll down to the General tab.

2. Tap the Software Update tab.

Click Software Update in General.

3. Tap "Automatic Updates."

Select the Automatic Updates tab.

4. On the next page, toggle the switch off (so it turns white instead of green).

You can turn off automatic updates by switching the toggle to white.

If you want to turn automatic updates back on, you would simply toggle the switch back to green.

How to turn off automatic app updates on an iPhone

1. Open your Settings app.

2. Scroll to and tap the iTunes & App Store tab.

3. Toggle off the "Updates" tab so it turns from green to white.

You can now manually update apps from the App Store's "Updates" tab, or enable automatic updates again by toggling the above tab back to green.
