20 areas in Palghar district declared coronavirus hotspots

Palghar, Apr16() As many as 20 localities inPalghar district of Maharashtra were on Thursday declared ascoronavirus hotspots and sealed to stem the spread of theviral disease.

Collector Kailas Shinde has declared 20 places in thedistrict as coronavirus hotspots and imposed sweeping curbs tocontain the infection.

In an order issued late in the evening, he said entryand exit of citizens and vehicles in these areas have beenbanned, except for those classified as emergency and essentialservices.

He said violation of the order will invite legalaction.

An official release by the district administration onThursday said the number of COVID-19 cases rose to 75 from 55on Wednesday.

The district, located adjoining Mumbai, has alsoregistered five deaths so far, it added. CORRSY RSY
