India is currently under a 21-day nationwide lockdown to control the spread of Coronavirus. The lockdown was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
At present, Telangana has 36 Coronavirus cases so far and out of these, eleven are foreign nationals. On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh said that five people were infected so far.

Just a few minutes before Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the nationwide lockdown, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that stringent action would be taken against those who violate the lockdown and warned that the state may have to impose a 24-hour curfew and shoot at sight orders may also be issued.
During the press conference, the CM said, “If people do not listen and stay indoors, we will be forced to implement a 24-hour curfew. If people continue to be on the streets, then the army has to be called out and shoot at sight orders may be issued. "

Andhra Pradesh has reported 9 Coronavirus cases so far and the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has instructed health officials to conduct door-to-door survey across the state. One patient has recovered from the disease so far.

The government suspended public transport, closed non-essential shops and offices. The government urged people not to hoard essential items as fair-price shops and grocery stores will remain open even during the lockdown.
