There are over 140 cases of Coronavirus in India, including 13 people who have been cured of the disease, according to the latest data available on the ministry of health and family welfare website.

Maharashtra is currently leading with most cases at 40, followed by Kerala and Haryana with 27 and 14 positive cases respectively.

India bans Afghanistan, Philippines, Malaysia till May 31

The Indian government on Tuesday issued a fresh travel advisory prohibiting travel of passengers from Afghanistan, Philippines and Malaysia with immediate effect till March 31 in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

"No flight shall take off from these countries to India after 1500 hours (3 p.m.). The airline shall enforce this at the port of initial departure," said a government order.

Odisha reports its first coronavirus case

The first confirmed case of novel coronavirus in Odisha was reported on Monday after a researcher who recently returned from Italy tested positive for it, a senior official said.

The 33-year-old man is being treated at Capital Hospital here, the official said. "His condition is stable and he is not showing any other complications," said Subroto Bagchi, the state government's chief spokesperson on COVID-19.

Delhi shuts gyms, spass and restrict mass gathering

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his cabinet ministers held a review meeting with all district authorities on measures taken against the spread of coronavirus in the national capital. The government took decisions of shutting down gyms, night clubs and spas till March 31 in NCT Delhi. It also restricted gatherings upto 50 people in the capital except marriages.

Uttrakhand reported its first case

An IFS trainee officer was tested positive in Dehradun on Sunday (March 15) marking the first positive case of coronavirus in Uttrakhand. According to reports, six IFS officers went for a study tour to Spain after which they were screened out, and one of them was detected as positive.

As of now, the state has screened 25 suspected patients in Dehradun, in which reports of 15 people were found negative while the reports of other ten people are awaited.

52 Indian students and one teacher arrive from Iran

Indian external affairs minister S Jaishankar tweeted on early Monday (March 16) that the fourth batch of 53 Indians has arrived in India from coronavirus-hit Tehran and Shiraz in Iran.

The plane carried a total of 53 Indians, in which 52 are students, and one is a teacher. As of now, a total of 389 Indians have returned to India from Iran.

India offers $10 million to SAARC for coronavirus emergency funds

The Indian government has issued a discharge policy for coronavirus cured patients under which a positive case shall be taken care of as per protocol and will be discharged after only two samples test negative within 24 hours. However, suspected corona cases will be watched for 14 days, even if the test is negative.

Three people from Rajasthan cured of coronavirus

Three people from Rajasthan are now declared coronavirus free, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare tweeted. There are a total of 13 people in India who have been cured of coronavirus across the country.

US-India meet over COVID-19 challenge

India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo discussed cooperation between the two countries to deal with the coronavirus crisis, according to a US official.

While the US is struggling under the growing impact of the disease, India is just beginning to see it with 112 cases and two deaths. The US has recorded 3,155 with 62 deaths as of Sunday (March 15).
