"Singhu and Singhu school borders are closed. Auchandi, Lampur, Safiabad, Saboli, Piau Maniyari and Palla toll tax borders are open. Please follow alternate routes," said Additional CP Traffic A.K. Singla.

Traffic is reported to be heavy on NH 44 and Narela. The traffic police also advised commuters to avoid the Outer Ring Road, GTK road and NH 44.

Thousands of farmers, mostly from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, have been camping at the Delhi border points -- Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur -- for over three months, demanding the repeal of contentious farm laws and a legal guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP) for their crops.
