New Delhi, Jul 6 () Delhi's COVID-19 tally on Monday breached the one lakh-mark as the city recorded 1,379 fresh coronavirus cases, while the death toll mounted to 3,115, authorities said.

Forty-eight fatalities have been recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the Delhi health department bulletin.

On June 23, the national capital had reported its highest single-day spike of 3,947 cases.

However, in the last few days, the number of fresh cases have oscillated, not showing a particular trend in figures.

The death toll from COVID-19 in Delhi stood at 3,067 on Sunday.

The Monday bulletin said the death toll from coronavirus infection has risen to 3,115 and the total number of cases mounted to 1,00,823.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the Delhi government was making all efforts to ramp up ICU bed capacity for COVID-19 patients, and the numbers for the same have been increased to 180 and 200 for the LNJP Hospital and the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital (RGSSH), respectively.

Kejriwal also felicitated a 57-year-old man, who became the 1,000th patient to be discharged from RGSSH, a dedicated COVID-19 facility under the Delhi government.

Lt Governor Anil Baijal chaired a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority to review the COVID-19 situation in the city, the bulletin said.

It said 72,088 patients have recovered, been discharged or migrated so far, while the number of active cases stood at 25,620. A total of 6,57,383 tests have been conducted, the bulletin added.

On Monday, 5,327 RT-PCR tests were conducted and 8,552 rapid antigen tests were done.

The number of tests per million in Delhi stands at 34,599, the bulletin said.

The number of containment zones in the city on Monday stood at 455. KND IJT
