Who is not eligible to be covered by this scheme?

Institutional farmers, employees of state and central governments, retired officers, employees of PSUs and autonomous bodies, people with higher economic status, those paying income tax, farmer families that hold constitutional posts, professionals such as doctors, lawyers and engineers, and retired people getting a pension of more than ₹10,000 per month are not eligible to apply for this assistance.

The farmers who want to avail of the PM Kisan financial assistance must first approach the nodal officer nominated by the state government or the local revenue officer (patwari). CSCs (Common Service Centers) can also do the registration of the farmers under this scheme by charging a small payment. The whole responsibility of registering farmers under this scheme lies with the central and state governments. Farmers can also directly apply for this scheme online by visiting the Farmer corner of the PM Kisan portal.

Aadhaar card has been made mandatory to register under the PM Kisan Yojana. In addition, you will need citizenship certificate, landowner’s documents, and Jan Dhan bank account details for this registration.

How to check the balance under the PM Kisan scheme?

There is a section named Farmer’s Corner on the official portal of the PM Kisan website. The farmers need to register themselves through this portal. They can also use this portal to edit their name. This page will provide them with information on the status of the payment.
