In a message shared on social media platform X, Banerjee dedicated the foundation day of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad, the student wing of her party, to the memory of the victim. "Today, on the foundation day of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad, I dedicate it to our sister, whose tragic loss we deeply mourn at RG Kar Hospital a few days ago. We express our sincere condolences and call for swift justice in this matter. Our thoughts are with all women who have suffered from such inhuman acts," she wrote in Bengali.
The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to remind students and youth of their important role in society. "Students have the power to keep society and culture alive and to inspire others with the hope of a brighter future. My appeal to all of them today is to stay committed to this effort. My dear students, stay well, stay healthy, and stay dedicated to building a better tomorrow," she urged.
The tragic death of the trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College has not only shaken the state but also triggered a nationwide call for justice. The young doctor's body was discovered in the seminar hall of the hospital on August 9, and the incident has since led to widespread protests, with people across the country demanding accountability and action.
