PM Modi paid homage to the security personnel calling them “exceptional individuals” who devote their lives to protect the nation.
“Tributes to the brave martyrs who lost their lives in the gruesome Pulwama attack last year. They were exceptional individuals who devoted their lives to serving and protecting our nation. India will never forget their martyrdom,” said Modi on his twitter handle.

Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan reacted to a fan’s post of him and Abhishek Bachchan honouring the martyr’s families by handing out donations last year. The celebrity wrote, “On this day, we remember them that sacrificed their lives so we could live”
Last year Bachchan donated ₹5 lakh each to the kin’s of 40 CRPF personnel who were martyred in the Pulwama terror attack.

The singer who is always seen in duo with Shekhar Ravjiani, remembered the martyrs in a tweet saying. “1 year ago, in #Pulwama, 40+ soldiers were killed when a car full of RDX exploded while travelling along with a convoy of soldiers. Deepest condolences to their families and all of India. Some questions were asked then, that still remain unanswered.” He also tweeted a picture of a newspaper with questions.

Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, expressed his emotion in Hindi on Twitter and wrote, “A soulful tribute to soldiers who martyred on this day in the Pulwama terrorist attack.”

The star who was featured in the movie based on Uri attack tweeted a photo of all 40 CRPF martyrs and called it an “unforgettable date”. “Our tears should only make our voice, intention & actions stronger against terrorism,” she said.

In February 2019, a convoy of 78 buses carrying around 2,500 CRPF personnel was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit. His sneak attack on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Pulwama district, resulted in the deaths of 40 CRPF personnel and the attacker.
Weeks later Indian Air Force (IAF) jets bombed a JeM camp in Balakot in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
