Ring, one of the leading brands in smart home security systems, is expanding its roster of security solutions to cover not just your home, but your mailboxes and cars as well.

The California-based company has announced a slew of new security cameras, alarms, and sensors. These include the Ring Always Home Cam, an indoor drone camera created to watch over every room in your home; the Ring Car Alarm, designed to detect car break-ins, bumps, and even tows; and Ring Mailbox Sensor, which alerts you whenever your mailbox has been opened.

These new products are in line with Ring's mission to "make neighborhoods safer." And, they couldn't have come at a better time, with mail theft on the rise and car theft or break-ins becoming more common.

Rounding off this host of new products from Ring are the Ring Car Cam and Ring Car Connect. A new video End-to-End Encryption feature will also be introduced to Ring's line of security cameras to provide even more privacy to its users.

Most of these new smart security solutions are slated for release sometime in 2021, but the Ring Mailbox Sensor will be available for pre-order on Ring's website and Amazon for $29.99 starting October 8.

Until then, here's a rundown of what you can expect from each of these products.

The Ring Always Home Cam will cost a whopping $249.99

Perhaps the biggest innovation on this list is the Ring Always Home Cam, which attempts to swap now traditional multi-camera home security systems for a minimalist yet versatile one-camera solution.

To make that happen, Ring has given this camera wings, allowing it to autonomously fly around your home – following a predetermined flight path, of course. By doing so, it gives homeowners a variety of viewpoints around their homes without the need for multiple cameras.

It lets you see what's happening throughout your home, from room to room, in real-time, as well as check areas of vulnerabilities like the stove or the front door. When connected to your Ring Alarm, it can even check for potential disturbances whenever the alarm is triggered – as long as it's in its flight path, that is.

The Ring Always Home Cam does come at a hefty price of $249.99. However, given that on paper, it can replicate a multi-camera security system and has the potential to even be more versatile, it still sounds like the more cost-effective solution.

As far as how it performs, we just have to wait and see when it comes out sometime in 2021.

Car security could get even better with Ring's solutions starting at $59.99

Car troubles? Ring has introduced three new security systems to prevent car thefts, send alerts in case of accidents, and even record incidents and traffic stops.

At the forefront of Amazon's car security solutions is the Ring Car Alarm, priced at $199.99 and also set to be released sometime in 2021. It's a discreet, wireless device that plugs into your car's OBD-II port and is designed to send real-time alerts via the Ring app so you'll be notified in the event of bumps and break-ins, as well as when your car is being towed.

True to its name, it comes with a built-in siren, which you can trigger the moment you receive an alert. Just in case you don't hear the notification on your phone, it can be also connected to your other Ring or Alexa-enabled devices, so that those too can send you audible alerts.

Among the best things about the Ring Car Alarm is that it's compatible with 99% of the cars on the road in the US – again via the OBD-II port – making this device accessible not only to luxury car owners, but the general public as well. As Jamie Siminoff, Founder and Chief Inventor of Ring, puts it, "security should be accessible to everyone."

To complement it is the Ring Car Cam, so you can see and have video recording of any incident in your car. Essentially a Ring security cam for your car, this $59.99 camera, which also will be made available in 2021, boasts intelligent sensors that actively monitor attempted break-ins and bumps. Much like the Ring Car Alarm, it's able to send real-time alerts via the Ring app whenever an event has occurred.

That's on top of several other features that help protect you while on the road like Emergency Crash Assist, which automatically calls for help when a serious crash has been detected; and Traffic Stop, which records your interactions when you've been pulled over by cops and uploads those videos to a cloud server for safekeeping.

Finally, there's Ring Car Connect, which will set you back $199.99 when made available in 2021. This is an API for car manufacturers to integrate into their vehicles to allow customers to receive mobile alerts for events, watch video recordings, and check on important things like to make sure that their car is locked.

It will first be made available for Tesla models 3, X, S, and Y. When installed, it will allow Tesla owners to watch Tesla Sentry Mode and recorded driving footage on the Ring app.

The Ring Mailbox Sensor will be available for pre-order on October 8 at $29.99

With mail and package theft incidents rising during the pandemic, most households might find the useful yet very affordable Ring Mailbox Sensor most practical. Set at $29.99 a piece, this mailbox sensor is designed to provide security for your mailbox.

While tiny, it will prove incredibly useful, capable of sending you alerts whenever your mailbox has been opened. The purpose is, naturally, two-fold – to notify you as soon as your postal carrier has dropped off your mail and to alert you when someone's trying to steal your mail. Whenever your mailbox is opened, you will receive instant notifications via your Ring app or Alexa-enabled devices.

Ring hasn't mentioned a built-in siren in this device – that would have been a handy addition to ward off potential mail thieves – but it sounds like a pretty nifty device nonetheless, and will be made available for pre-order on October 8, 2020.

All devices can be purchased on Ring's website or on Amazon when available.
