India’s first sports car

Under its sub-brand TAMO, Tata Motors has launched India’s first sports car Racemo. The mild engine two-seater coupe is a very quick car that can accelerate to 100 kmph within six seconds. Tata Motors is a 70- years old company. The company started its journey out as Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO) in 1945. The initially launched trucks of the company carried the Mercedes Logo and the company also had collaborations with Daimler Benz.

Tata Motors launched its Tata 407 in 1986. Upon its launch, the vehicle smashed the international competition from Eicher-Mitsubishi, DCM Toyota, Swaraj Mazda and Allwyn-Nissan. Becoming highly popular just like 407, the model transformed the vehicle manufacturer in the light commercial vehicle space through an Indian made solution.
