Amazon will stream the first-ever NFL Black Friday game
  • The NFL is hosting its first-ever Black Friday game on November 24.
  • The game will be exclusively streamed on Amazon Prime Video.

The NFL is broadcasting its first-ever Black Friday game exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, where the New York Jets will face off with the Miami Dolphins at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium.

The Black Friday game, which kicks off at 3 p.m. EST, presents a chance for Amazon to tempt would-be in-person Black Friday shoppers to stay at home instead, and shop on online e-commerce platforms like Amazon.

The opportunity for Amazon is not lost on NFL executives. "Amazon is uniquely positioned to partner with us for this game as Black Friday is one of the most important days of the year for their business," chief operating officer Hans Schroeder said in a press release when the game was first announced last year.

In a press release, Amazon said that it had its "biggest ever" holiday weekend sale from Black Friday through Cyber Monday 2022. The company claimed that it generated "more than $1 billion in sales for small businesses in the U.S."

Since 2022, Amazon has had the exclusive rights to broadcast the NFL's Thursday Night Football games on Prime Video and its streaming platform Twitch. Previously, the games had also aired on cable channels like CBS, NBC, and Fox.

Representatives for Amazon and the NFL did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.
