The DC mayor has ordered a 6 p.m. curfew for the city after Pro-Trump protesters stormed the Capitol building during a protest on Wednesday.

Mayor Muriel Bowser tweeted the order around 2 p.m.

Notice of the 12-hour curfew, which will not apply to essential workers - including press - was also blasted out to cellphones in the city.

A wave of Trump supporters flooded DC today as the Senate formerly confirmed the presidential election results.

The scene turned to chaos as rioters breached he Capitol building.

Vice President Mike Pence was escorted from the building and members of the media were taken toa secure location in the basement, according to livestreams from the chaos.
