Hurricane Ian first hit land as a Category 4 storm near Fort Myers on Florida's west coast.
The storm left fallen trees and debris scattered throughout the streets.
The storm surge caused by the hurricane flooded Fort Myers — at one point reaching 12 feet — and washed boats ashore.
Some boats were even stranded on the concrete on the side of the road.
Massive palm trees throughout Fort Myers were taken down by the storm, which reached wind speeds of around 150 mph.
A day after the storm swept through, Fort Myers residents were hard at work gathering branches from their property.
In nearby Naples, Florida, excessive flooding had remained even as the storm surge retreated.
Entire neighborhood blocks were still flooded on Thursday, one day after Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida.
Some Naples residents have had to throw out some of their belongings, and many left their house windows open to help them dry out.
Even 30 miles outside of Naples, roads and buildings had been flooded.
There were also signs of flooding and damage in the Everglades.
More than 2.6 million customers in Florida were still without power on Thursday, which made gas pumps unavailable in some places.
