The “unprovoked” Russian invasion has adversely affected the lives of many in Ukraine. Citizens as well as media organizations have reported air strikes and attacks on several parts of the country.
So far, Russians have reportedly captured the Chernobyl Power Plant and taken control of the airport outside of Ukraine’s capital Kyiv. The situation in the city is tense, as per several media reports.
In the early hours of Friday morning, Ukrainian forces claimed that they shot down a Russian aircraft over Kyiv. The plane crashed into a multi-storey building in the capital and set it on fire.
Several local residents have shared pictures of the incidents.
And Russians do stand in solidarity with them. The Russian government has already arrested 1,800 of their citizens for participating in anti-war protests.

“Arrest Putin, not me,” yells a Russian anti-war protester in Moscow.
A boy, whose age has not yet been disclosed, was among the first to be killed in Russia’s bombardment of Ukraine. He was in a residential building in the city of Chuguev when it came under attack by Russian forces. The Conflict Intelligence Team, an independent investigative group, said that a “Smerch” Multiple Launch Rocket System was used to strike the area and that makes it a war crime.
