Istanbul — Turkey

Istanbul has seen a noticeable increase in traffic congestion levels. According to the TomTom Index report. The average travel time in this city increased by 6 minutes per day.

Moscow region (oblast) — Russia

Ranked at the second spot, the traffic congestion level in Moscow (61 percent in 2022) has increased by 7 percentage points this year as compared to 2020.This means that a 30-minute trip driven in free-flow condition will take 18 minutes longer when the congestion level is at 61 percent.

Kyiv — Ukraine

The current congestion level in Kyiv is at 56 percent, an increase of 5 percentage points as compared to 2020.The data suggests the average travel time increased by 3 minutes per day.

Bogotá — Colombia

With 55 percent as the congestion level, the average travel time in Bogotá increased by 1 minute. According to the report, October 26 was the most congested day in 2021.

Mumbai — India

The report says that the congestion level in Mumbai has shown no change this year as compared to 2020. At 53 percent congestion level, a 30-minute trip driven in free-flow condition will take 16 minutes longer.

A notable 7 percentage point increase in congestion level has been seen in Odessa in 2021 as compared to 2020. According to the data, average travel time increased by 5 minutes per day in Odessa.

Saint Petersburg — Russia

The report suggests that the average travel time in Saint Petersburg increased by 4 minutes per day, while the congestion level has also risen from 44 percent to 50 percent.

Bucharest — Romania

The report reveals that May 20 was the most congested day in 2021 in Bucharest. The congestion level has increased from 42 percent in 2020 to 50 percent in 2021.

According to the report, January, February, March, April, November and December were the most congested months in 2021. The data suggests the average travel time increased by 2 minutes per day.

A 3 percentage point decrease in congestion levels was seen in Bengaluru in 2021. The reports say that October 9 was the most congested day in 2021 in Bengaluru.
