LIVE: The 2018 Emmy nominees are being announced

Awards season is officially back, even though it feels like it just ended.

The nominees for the 2018 Emmys are being announced today at 11:30 a.m. ET. Watch the announcement here.

Both "Better Call Saul" and "House of Cards" are ineligible this year, which leaves the Drama race open for "Game of Thrones" to return after it missed out on last year's Emmys.

"Veep" is ineligible in the comedy race, which could mean that relative newcomers like "Atlanta" and "Glow" could pull ahead.

The 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by "SNL's" Colin Jost and Michael Che, will air live September 17 on NBC at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT). from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
