BJP has declared it will contest fourteen seats in Kerala for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections including Kasargode, Kannur, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Ponnani, Palakkad, Chalakudy, Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Attingal and Thiruvananthapuram. As per the pact in the state between the parties of the NDA, the party has allotted 5 seats in the state for Bharat Dharma Jena Sena (BDJS) and one seat for Kerala Congress (PC Thomas). Kummannam Rajasekharan, the former Mizoram Governor has been fielded from Thiruvananthapuram. He will fight for BJP against Sashi Tharoor of Congress. This constituency is presently held by Sashi Tharoor from where he was elected to the parliament in 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
