For quite some time, the state remains a stronghold of the Congress party. During the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, the congress party won from here and the party is holding this seat for a long time here since it won in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections also. Even BJP is working hard this time to grab the seat from the Congress and we will have to wait and see if the results announced on May 23 will favor the Congress or the BJP.
