On 11 April, the world’s largest democracy began its month-long democratic exercise to form a new government. The key questions hovering over the country is whether India’s ruling party led by Narendra Modi will be able to win a mandate for another five years
The voting will continue till May 19 across 543 constituencies in 29 states. The results for the elections will be announced on 23 May.
This year the Election Commission has deployed 2.3 million voting machines, 570 special trains and 2 million electoral officials to facilitate the elections.
