New 2020 campaign ad encourages supporters to call and leave a thank you message for Trump

• After leaving their names and messages, supporters are encouraged to donate to the Trump 2020 campaign.
• The TV ad and the phone recording feature Brad Parscale, Trump's new campaign manager. Parscale touts Trump's presidential achievements, saying he "has achieved more during his time in office than any president in history."

In what is perhaps the first ad of the 2020 presidential campaign, Brad Parscale, Donald Trump's campaign manager, wants you to call the president and say thank you. 

In a TV advertisement spotted on CNN by reporter Yashar Ali Monday night, Parscale tells Trump supporters to call an 800 number and leave a message for the president. In the ad, Parscale claims the president has "achieved more during his time in office than any president in history."

"We have a booming economy, historically low unemployment, including the lowest unemployment rate for minorities in history," Parscale says. The world, Parscale adds, is a "safer place" because of Trump.

This is why, Parscale says, supporters must "pick up the phone right now and deliver a personal thank you to your president." 

Those who call are asked to leave their name and thank you message. After leaving a message and pressing the pound key, Parscale asks callers to either press 1 to make a donation or press 2 to move on. If a caller presses 2 without donating to the campaign, Parscale appeals to them once again.

"I understand a contribution is a lot to ask for, but President Trump is asking for your support now, before it's too late," he says. "We must protect the Trump presidency for the American people."

Commenters and pundits quickly reacted to the ad online.

"Make no mistake: The Trump campaign knows its audience," tweeted former Obama administration official Brandon Friedman.
