The Indian government went into a tizzy after cash ban as they could not meet the huge demand for new notes. In this frenzy, the currency printing machines worked overtime in full steam. In this hurry, various mistakes in notes have been reported.
Now, Rs 500 notes withdrawn from an ATM has surfaced which has only one printed side. According toHemant Soni , a resident of Segaon village in Khargone district, when he withdrew Rs 1,500 from a SBI ATM, he found that two Rs 500 notes were printed only on one side.
"Only the side withMahatma Gandhi 's image was printed. The other side was blank," Soni told TOI.
He immediately reported the matter to the bank, which replaced the notes. SBI's Khargone currency chest in-charge PS Panwar told TOI, “Around four misprinted currency notes with one side blank were received and replaced. We tried to ensure that the customers didn't face any trouble.” He also said that the matter has been reported to the RBI.
This incident comes after recently some farmers inMadhya Pradesh 's Sheopur district had received newly printed Rs 2, 000 notes without Mahatma Gandhi's image on them. Another incident was reported in Khargone city when a person withdrew Rs 4,500 from an ATM in New Radhavallabh Market and one of the Rs 500 notes was misprinted.
